A large mass of blue invades a quiet, mossy green field. A shock of orange dares its gray neighbor to contain it. A moment of peace as a creamy swatch spreads over a pool of slate.
My recent paintings explore what happens when one color meets another. Editing a painting down to its most basic elements serves to magnify the significance of palette and form. I am interested in the tension created when certain colors interact with one another. Imperfect forms challenge our brains' natural desire to find order, thus creating more interest at the point where the forms converge.
